I love who and how I am but for much of life I felt bad, wrong, or broken. I felt that the world was too heavy for me. Or, perhaps more accurately, I felt ill equipped for this world. When I learned about the trait of high sensitivity, my life changed powerfully for the better.
15-20% of the population is highly sensitive. We are beautifully knit-together (on purpose!) with the trait of sensory processing sensitivity. This part of who and how we are plays a significant role in how we feel and navigate the world. Learning about this trait helps us make sense of our lived experience and bring compassion to our story.
