All of us develop patterns and coping mechanisms for protection and to help us deal with stress, fear, and pain. We’re often unconscious of our patterns and even when we become awake to them we may not realize that these behaviours, emotional responses, or thoughts are “state not trait.” That is, they are not WHO we are, but HOW we learned to show up to life.
In the Discharge Stress + Feel More Empowered Workshop, I offer education and practices to help you live with joy in a stressful world and move stress through your body, rather than suppressing, bypassing, hiding, or existing in a chronically stressed state.

I learnt heaps in this workshop, especially the parts about the autonomic nervous system, the ideas for releasing ‘stuck’ energy from the body, the bits about shame stories and switching that story to acknowledging your body & wiring trying to protect you. The links to the stress measures were also useful, and the Befriend Your Nervous System map is an excellent way of making the ANS stuff clearer, as was your explanation.
My most treasured part of the workshop, though, one that I have written out on a card an put on my bathroom mirror is the part framing the path to wholeness and a brave and beautiful life through the lens of deepening our roots of self-awareness, self-compassion and learning how to take IMPERFECT action.
