A Life in Progress is a podcast that offers a sprinkling of honest stories with women walking through different seasons of life, and a regular mix of evidence-base, inspiration, and practical application. It supports brave, weary, curious humans in the middle season of life as they strip away all the noise, clutter, and conditioning to walk in freedom, mind-body wholeness, and joy in every season.
I’m a writer, health educator and coach, a highly sensitive human in progress, life partner of 29 years, and a proud mama of 3 wise and creative humans, including my son who died by suicide in 2019. I know what it takes to make space for joy amid the messiness of life.
A lot of our pain or suffering comes from ‘bumping up against the reality of life’ and judging ourselves as bad, wrong, or broken, or assuming we’re doing life wrong simply because real life is messy. The truth is, there’s wisdom and beauty to be mined in every season – even the hardest of them. This doesn’t mean it’s always easy or delightful, though. Being human can be hard work.
Harnessing the cyclical wisdom of nature, of our bodies and lives, helps us understand and love ourselves more fully as we work with instead of against our natural wiring. It teaches us to embrace (rather than rail against) the common gifts and challenges of each season and meet significant life transitions with bravery and intention. And it allows us to show up fully to our messy and beautiful lives, including our creative work and relationships, in a soul-honouring way.
The podcast has been on a low simmer for years until I had the energetic and emotional capacity to get started. Stay in the know by signing up for email updates!
